Desun Hospital Launches Specialized Breast Cancer Clinic, Championing Breast Conservation Surgery for Healing with Dignity
Kolkata, 17 October 2025: Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women in India, accounting for nearly 30% of all female cancers. In 2025 alone, an estimated 2.3 lakh women nationwide, including more than 15,000 in West Bengal, are apprehended to be newly diagnosed. Alarmingly, more than half of these cases present at advanced stages, and women in India are diagnosed almost 10 years younger than women in Western countries, often during their prime years of work and family life. Amidst these realities, Desun Hospital has launched a specialised Breast Cancer Clinic focused on Breast Conservation Surgery (BCS), a modern approach that treats cancer while preserving dignity and confidence of women.
