Birla Fertility & IVF strengthens foothold in east India, launches new fertility centre in Siliguri

Siliguri (West Bengal)-30th January 2025: Birla Fertility & IVF, India’s top three and fastest-growing fertility and IVF chains, has announced the launch of its first centre in Siliguri, third in West Bengal, as a part of its efforts to strengthen its foothold in east India. The expansion is part of the fertility chain’s strategic plan to expand to 100 clinics with an investment of over Rs 500 crore over the next few years. In the year 2024, Birla Fertility & IVF also marked a significant expansion in South India, having acquired two fertility chains.
Currently, Birla Fertility & IVF operates over 50+ clinics across 37 cities and 18 states, delivering quality, affordable and holistic fertility treatment to couples and individuals. The new centre in Siliguri will cater to far east and northeast regions of India, including Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Assam. Narayana Hospital, Barasat, Saves a Stroke Patient with Successful Rare Heart Tumour Surgery

Barasat, January xx 2025 - Narayana Hospital, Barasat, successfully performed a life-saving heart surgery to remove a rare left arterial Myxoma (heart tumour) from a stroke-affected woman. The complex procedure led by Dr Arunansu Dhole, Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, overcame significant risks and delivered a positive outcome, restoring the patient’s health and mobility. The woman was admitted with right-sided hemiplegia (paralysis on the right side of her body) caused by an embolic stroke, where tumour-related clots blocked blood flow to the brain. Echocardiography revealed a large tumour, known as a left atrial myxoma, inside her heart. The tumour was 5 cm in size and had caused blood clots, which led to the stroke. After initial treatment, surgery was planned for a later date to allow her condition to stabilize.
