Narayana Hospital, Barasat, Saves a Stroke Patient with Successful Rare Heart Tumour Surgery

Barasat, January xx 2025 - Narayana Hospital, Barasat, successfully performed a life-saving heart surgery to remove a rare left arterial Myxoma (heart tumour) from a stroke-affected woman. The complex procedure led by Dr Arunansu Dhole, Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, overcame significant risks and delivered a positive outcome, restoring the patient’s health and mobility. The woman was admitted with right-sided hemiplegia (paralysis on the right side of her body) caused by an embolic stroke, where tumour-related clots blocked blood flow to the brain. Echocardiography revealed a large tumour, known as a left atrial myxoma, inside her heart. The tumour was 5 cm in size and had caused blood clots, which led to the stroke. After initial treatment, surgery was planned for a later date to allow her condition to stabilize. This marks the launch of the company’s eighth RVSF across the country. Named 'Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect,' this cutting-edge facility is designed to sustainably and safely dismantle up to 21,000 end-of-life vehicles annually. The RVSF will be operated by Tata Motors’ partner, Selladale Synergies India Pvt. Ltd, and is equipped to handle the scrapping of passenger and commercial vehicles, along with two-wheelers and three-wheelers, across all brands.
