HISTORIC INAUGURAL INDIAN INTERNATIONAL DARTS OPEN 2026 SET FOR KOLKATA EDITION
Marking a major milestone in the country's sports landscape, the All India Darts Association (AIDA) is bringing the 1st Indian International Open 2026—a premier WDF Silver Category event—to Kolkata from September 10 to September 12, 2026. The grand opening ceremony will held on Thursday, September 10 at 5:00 PM, featuring Mr. Sankar Ghosh, Hon'ble Tourism Minister of West Bengal, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by leading personalities from sports, cinema, and fashion. The three-day event will conclude with the final awards presentation on Saturday, September 12 at 5:30 PM, where Dr. Indranil Khan, Hon'ble Sports Minister of West Bengal, alongside AIDA President and Hon'ble Member of Parliament Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, will honor the champions.
The championship brings together top-tier domestic players and invited global pros battling for official WDF Ranking points alongside substantial cash prizes. Celebrating AIDA’s 25th anniversary, the tournament will offer high-end match broadcasting, real-time scoring, interactive spectator zones, and a strong push for grassroots youth participation.
Running alongside the main draws is a Para Darts Championship sanctioned by World Para Darts, UK, where top performers will secure spots for the upcoming World Para Darts Championship 2026. This mega event aligns with AIDA's broader mission under Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy to expand the sport across schools and universities nationwide, including an upcoming initiative to introduce darts at the Constitution Club in New Delhi.
